The U.S.-Egypt Business Council (USEBC), in partnership with the Embassy of Egypt in Washington and AmCham Egypt Inc., hosted a reception at U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in Washington, D.C. on Monday, June 10, 2019 to celebrate EGYPTAIR's new tri-weekly direct flight between Cairo and Washington.
Mr. Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President of Middle East Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of the Council's work in supporting American businesses active in Egypt.
The Egyptian Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Yasser Reda, was in attendance and provided brief remarks on how the new airline service is a testament to the strong and ever-growing U.S.-Egypt bilateral relationship.
General Manager of the EGYPTAIR Washington office, Ms. Dalia El Maraghy, addressed the new service which officially began on June 4, and highlighted the airline's new fleet of Boeing 787-9's.
At the end of the reception, a raffle was drawn for two free tickets for the new Cairo-D.C. service. The event illustrated the Council's continued success in enhancing and promoting U.S. economic engagement in Egypt.
