The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Egypt Business Council hosts H.E. Amr El Garhy



On April 17, 2018, the U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-Egypt Business Council hosted H.E. Amr El Garhy, Egypt’s minister of finance, in Washington D.C.

Minister Garhy kicked off his speech by admitting that the past 18 months have been a difficult period, however Egypt still maintains the most friendly and most reasonable regime in the Middle East. His Excellency also explained how Egypt’s budget deficit has reduced this year to 9.8% in terms of overall subsidy.

Minister Garhy went on to praise the Prime Minister and the governor of the Central Bank for the unwavering courage in implementing the decisions of President Sisi.
