Egypt's Minister of Finance H.E. Amr El Garhy was the guest speaker at a special breakfast hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce jointly with AmCham Egypt Inc. on October 7th in Washington DC.

During his speech, H.E. Minister El Garhy emphasized the importance of closing the IMF deal as a step forward in the right direction, a way of putting the economy back on track and as a positive signal for potential investors.

Minister Garhy also added that promoting foreign direct investment will be crtitcal for Egypt during the coming period as a way of reducing budget deficit, creating jobs, specifically in labor intensive industries. Minister El Garhy was was hopeful that more investments are pledged in the area of infrastructure.
