The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and AmCham Egypt Inc. host Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Tarek El Molla

On Friday, March 15, 2019, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources H.E. Eng. Tarek El Molla was the guest speaker of a private luncheon hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with AmCham Egypt Inc. in Washington, DC.

H.E. Minister Tarek El Molla examined Egypt’s history of energy and its unprecedented growth since 2015. Since the discovery of the Zohr gas field, Egypt has become self-sufficient in gas and has resumed exports to Jordan in 2019.

Minister Molla added how the energy sector’s success in reducing subsidies made funding available for other vital sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Minister Molla is hopeful and ready for business development partnerships as Egypt continues its growth into an energy hub of the region.
