March 13th Special Panel organized by the Center for Transatlantic Relations at John Hopkins University

Several events took place on the margins of the Mission. AmCham delegates were hosted on March 13th as speakers on a special panel organized by the Center for Transatlantic Relations at John Hopkins University, addressing “Egypt’s Private Sector in a Challenging Regional Environment”. Participating on the panel was AmCham President Tarek Tawfik, AmCham’s Banking and Finance Committee Chair and Chief Executive officer, Consumer Banking, Commercial International Bank, Ahmed Issa, AmCham’s CSR Committee Chair and Member of the Board and Head of Corporate Affairs – North Africa and Levant, Procter & Gamble, Tamer Younes, and CEO & Co-Founder, Ahead of the Curve (ATC), Dina Sherif. Delegates shared their perspective on recent reform measures which have jumpstarted the economy, monetary and fiscal policies, the potential of Egypt’s market, the growing entrepreneurship ecosystem, as well as the challenges facing the private sector. The event was attended by more than 60 individuals and observers of the bilateral relationship.

 

AmCham Egypt Inc. Special Reception In Honor of the Visiting Doorknock Delegation March 15th

On March 15th, AmCham Egypt Inc. hosted a Special Reception in honor of the visiting Doorknock Delegation. The reception which took place at the University Club, was attended by almost 200 guests including executive branch officials, senior representatives from think-tanks, Egyptian Embassy officials and different stakeholders and friends of AmCham in Washington D.C.
